Building houses in rural areas
According to the website of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Nations, the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan is more than 26.4 million (by 4-th quarter 2006), 37 % of them living in urban areas and 63 % - rural residents.
This shows that the main part of Uzbekistan’s population lives in rural areas.
The government of the country supports financing to stimulate the rural housing market. Government-supported financing is mainly through Qishloq Qurilish Bank.
Qishloq Qurilish Bank, a majority state-owned bank with an extensive national branch network, has been mandated to offer affordable housing finance to creditworthy rural residents who are interested in buying new houses under the RHS.
Our subsidiary in Uzbekistan has been building houses in Khorezm within Rural Housing Scheme by government-supported financing mainly through Qishloq Qurilish Bank.
