The EH Corporate Responsibility Strategy

Сharity and doing well for the societies we work is a part of our Corporate

Responsibility Strategy (CR strategy). We adhere to the approach that business should assist the communities where it does business and we do that. We assist nursing houses, we care about the environment, we show our appereciation to senior citizen.

Our special concern is the most vulnerable groups: women, children, orphans and people with disabilities. We consistently provide assistantship to the orphanages, especially those located in small towns. One of them is located in Almalyk. There are more than 200 children in that orphanage. We have provided assistantship to the orphanage in different ways, but recently we realized that these children would be happy to have something different. These children never had families in their life, they did not celebrate holidays with their parents, did not go for camping or fishing with their fathers. They did not have that in their life, but they want to have that. So, we decided to arrange something like that to them; we decided to invite clowns to play with them and to invite a theater group to play performance for them. In June of 2011 we arranged such event. To say that children were glad to have it is to say nothing! They were happy! Their faces when they watched the performance “The Magician of Emerald City” showed so much compassion to the heroes of the performance; they were happy when the heroes were happy and upset when the heroes felt bad. These children have golden hearts and so much compassion: they know the price of love and care. Then we all played games with clowns and ate fruits and cookies. We were so happy together!

We do appereciate and respect senior citizen. Each year we visit the Republican boarding house for War and Labor veterans in Tashkent to show our respect, gratitude and appreciation of the veterans' input into the society. This year we have done this as well. On June 9, 2017 the office employees visited the Republican boarding house for War and Labor veterans in Tashkent. Of course, we made some preparations: we cooked a pilaf, a national food in an open fireplace, made achichuk, a traditional salad (there is no pilaf without achichuk salad!), sweets were prepared, and our staff jointly with the boarding house personnel visited each veteran. We talked with each veteran, with those who wished took pictures and we hope we were able to show to each veteran how much we appreciate them and how much we value them. On the main entrance gate to the boarding house there is a sign which says: stretch out your hand of mercy! And this is important to show compassion, sympathize, and be patient, kind, and tender-hearted!

Our CR strategy focuses not only on charity and doing well for the societies we work, but it also includes the issues of habitat conservation and education.

We keep the areas in which we operate clean. We also want the areas near us to be at least clean and well maintained. To illustrate, the area located next to us was not nice at all. We brought the land and made it level, we prepared the soil for planting and then planted flowers and trees, and now we are taking care of it. Of course, on a regular basis. And while the plants grow, we have installed a colorful banner encouraging pro-environmental behavior (of course we did it on an agreed basis with local authorities). We believe that beauty and it is primarily true beauty of our nature - save the world!

Also, we have placed the stand encouraging "Green office" behaviour on the wall in our office. This stand explains the importance of the careful attitude to nature. As it is well-known, "green office" priciples are the following: 1) reduce (the use of water, electricity, paper, etc.); 2) reuse and recycle; 3) use of goods and services that minimally harm the environment.
